Patient Safety Companion “Sitter” positions available at local hospital, to assist in the observation of patients unable to notify nursing staff of needs. Available hours of assignment may be 7a-3p, 3p-11p, 7p-11p, or 11p-7a, on any day of the week. Major Job Responsibilities: Remain with the patient(s) at all times and provide constant observation for patients at risk for suicide, falls, confusion, and/or combativeness. Immediately report sign of patient distress. or any unusual communication (verbal or non-verbal) to the Registered Nurse. Observe patient and intervenes if necessary to prevent physical injury or patient elopement. The PSC will NOT participate in hands on care like bathing, changing, feeding or turning the patient(s). |
